Biography

Internationally represented Australian Artist, Milanda de Mont, is an accomplished abstract artist, with professional career of forty years. Her distinct signature flowing style, fluid colours, liberated brush strokes, express a poetic quality, which have captured the public interest and has gained her recognition, on the international art platform. She has had highly successful solo, group, collaborative exhibitions represented by various galleries and museums, in Paris, Nice, New York, Monte Carlo, Florence, Naples, Milan, Berlin, Stuttgart, Wiesbaden, Frankfurt. As well she is represented on the international Art Fairs by Germany;s Arte Kunstmessen. Her paintings have been purchased by numerous art investors, and are in many collections worldwide. Further, she has been critically reviewed by the German, French, and Italian Art Critics & Art Historians.

One of her recent artistic highlights include; Selected Artist in February 2025, by the Committee of the Salon des Artistes indépendant France, she exhibited in prestigious Art Capital Paris, at the monumental Grand Palais in Paris.

For the past decades in Europe, she is represented Artist, by several galleries; Gravis Art Galerie, Nice, French Riviera, Monteoliveto Gallery, Naples & Nice, Etienne de Causans Galerie, Saint Germain, Paris, Crelala Kunst Art Galerie, Kerstan Galleries Arte Kunstmessen, Stuttgart, Germany, Arakyan Art Gallery, Yerevan Modern Art Museum, National Gallery of Armenia, Palazzo Dell Annunziata Museum, Matera, Italy. As Australian Artist, she has exhibited with notable European Artists, curated by the renown Italian Art Curator Historian, Professor, Pino Nicoletti in 2017. In addition, she has exhibited with well known Italian Artist; Achile Pache, four times selected for the Venice Biennale. In addition, the Monteoliveto Gallery in Nice & Naples, has been regularly representing her works for numerous years in various notable international Art Fairs, such as: Art Milan, Art Monaco, Art Expo Paris, Art 3F Nice, French Riviera, Art Mulhouse. As well she has been represented in Manhattan New York from 2010 – 2016, with her abstracts purchased by NY collectors.   De Mont has been a selected artist from 2012 – 2017, by the Curators of the prestigious international Contemporary GemlucArt Monte Carlo, under the Patronage of HRH Princess Carolyn of Hanover in Monaco. Milanda de Mont has exhibited with numerous in; Jacque Renoir Grandson of the  Painter ‘Renoir’.

Furthermore since 2014, her works have been featured regularly on international auction Houses, namely by the renowned Auction Houses Drouot Paris, and Hôtel des Ventes de Lausanne. She is selected  ‘Artiste Cotation Agréée’ (Ranked Valued Artist) by Christian Sorriano, Art Expert,  Evaluator & Auctioneer, Drouot Paris & Hotel des Ventes de Lausanne, Customs Expert and Assessor, Expert near Administrative Courts, Charged with Mission by the French Government, decree of December 2, 1992, in order to structure “The professions of Art and Antiquities”. As well from 2014 – to Date, she is a Published ‘Valued Artist’ in the GUID’ARTS Dictionnaire des Artistes Cotes, since 15^thCentury France.

As well in Australia, Milanda de Mont’s early paintings have been featured and auctioned by Leonard Joel Collectors on 5th of March 2024.  Auction, Sydney, and listed by Shapiro Auction House.  

Born in 1953, Milanda de Mont Gregorian has a vivid heritage, she was raised in Sydney, and has been painting since childhood. She recalls her first Studio at age eleven. Further, she studied Fine Arts, Graphic Design, and Education, at the National Art School, Sydney College of the Arts, University of Technology Sydney. She was Teacher at the Arts & Media Sector of TAFE NSW, for a over a decade, as well she conducted numerous workshops at the Gosford Regional Art Gallery, NSW.

She was Lecturer at the Kunstakademie Allensbach, in Lake Constance, Germany from 2018-2022.

She has been represented Artist for many years in Australia, by Harris Courtin Gallery, Libby Edwards Galleries, Wentworth Galleries, in Sydney & Melbourne.

After the Australian Financial Crisis in 2010, she decided to move to Germany, and established her second Studio, further continued as Australian Artist to exhibit in Europe.

Meantime, she exhibited with German artists n solo and group exhibitions in the Bredeney Galerie in Essen from 1996 – 2004.  

Recipient of Two (2) Scholarship Awards from the Goethe Institut-Inter Nationes from Munich. in 1995 and 2001. As well she participated at the ‘Culture Symposiums’ in Weimar & Berlin.

Winner 2001 Wyong Art Prize. 

Finalist 2007 Audi Art Prize & Award. 

Winner 2010 First Prize Gosford  Art Prize. Winner 2014 Naples Contemporary Art Award. 

Winner 2017 Art Capri Award. 

Finalist 2016, selected top Solo Artist Stands at the international Art Expo New York. 

Finalist participant from 2000 – 21010 at the Gosford Art Prize.

Winner Gold Medal & First Prize, from 1967 – 1968, at the Iranian National Painting Competitions, Tehran. 

Extensively travelled in the world, painting in various countries, she is inspired by every day life. Influenced by European and American abstract artists, her abstract art possess a distinctive style of looseness and control, in a signature flowing brush, executing technique and confidence. Her art is expressed with sensitivity, poetic quality,  and admired by the Public, the international Art Market, Art Collectors, Corporate Organisations,

De Mont’s oeuvre encompass: small to mid and large contemporary paintings on canvas, performance artworks, drawings, and works on paper.
